The Surgery Center of BJI now offers advanced spine surgery!

The Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia now offers advanced spine surgery in their Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center.

With the addition of a specialized Spine System O.R. Table, and a Zeiss Microscope that allows for crystal clear resolution and 3D visualization, Dr. Thomas P. Loumeau is now able to perform many advanced, minimally invasive spine procedures in the surgery suites at the Surgery Center of BJI.  Dr. Loumeau offers cervical and lumbar procedures such as fusions, discectomies, and total disc arthroplasty (replacement) to help patients that are suffering from back and neck pain associated with damaged, herniated, or degenerative discs.  Minimally invasive procedures allow for reduced blood loss, reduced risk of infection, smaller incisions, and faster recovery times after surgery.

Dr. Loumeau, a Board Certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon, specializes in the diagnoses and treatments of the spine.  He brought a vast amount of knowledge to the Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia when he joined the practice in February of 2017 and has performed many innovative procedures through the Bone & Joint Institute as well as Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Conveniently located on-site at the Bone and Joint Institute of South Georgia in Jesup, GA, the surgery suites at the Surgery Center of BJI were designed exclusively for same-day orthopaedic surgeries. The surgery suites are equipped with the latest technology, including high-definition video cameras for arthroscopic procedures, our digital fluoroscopic x-ray unit, and high resolution computer monitors that display medical imagery that ensure a high level of patient safety, satisfaction and positive outcomes.
