MORE ABOUT DR. POLANDER

Q – Why did you choose to be a physician?
A -Some of my earliest and best memories growing up were when I would tag along to hospital rounds and home visits with my father, who’s a physical therapist. Watching him care for his patients really cultivated my love for medicine and serving people.

Q – Why did you choose orthopaedics?
A – I chose orthopaedics because of the connection I feel to orthopaedic patients and their injuries. Having experienced many of these injuries myself, I enjoy being able to help my patients return to the sports and activities they love.

Q – What made you choose the Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia?
A – My wife and I really wanted to get back to Southern culture and food that we’ve been missing during my training out west. Southern Georgia and the community in Jesup reminded us of our home towns. The area really supports our hobbies of fishing, hunting and water sports. The other providers at BJISG also share the same compassion and patient-focused philosophy in treating patients, and this was important to me.
