February 13, 2011 – The Bone and Joint Institute was proud to sponsor a table at the Fundraising Banquet for the Golden Isles chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The event took place February 10th at the Grand Oaks Hall in the Jekyll Island historic district.

University of Georgia head football coach, Mark Richt, served as the keynote speaker at the banquet, and more than 700 people were in attendance to hear him speak about Georgia football and deliver his testimonial.

“What a unique, exciting and positive opportunity it was for my family and me to participate in the FCA Banquet. It’s always inspiring to be in an environment filled with so much positive energy and we were proud to be a part of the evening,” said Dr. Lex Kenerly of The Bone and Joint Institute of South Georgia.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is the largest Christian sports organization in America. Since 1954 FCA has focused on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ by ministering to those on the inside, the coaches and athletes. FCA’s “The Four C’s” represent the four branches of the ministry – Coaches, Camp, Campus and Community. For more information, please visit http://www.goldenislesfca.org.

The money FCA raises from the banquet goes a long way toward aiding the organization’s efforts in the community. The FCA Community Ministry includes non-school-based FCA Ministries which are made possible through partnerships with local churches, businesses, parents and volunteers.
