The Bone & Joint Institute helps raise $11,000 for Child Abuse Prevention in The Wayne County Exchange Club Annual Golf Tournament

JULY 18, 2011 – JESUP, GA – Staff members of the Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia participated in the Wayne County Exchange Club’s annual Golf Tournament on June 25th, helping to raise more than $11,000 for the prevention of child abuse.
The Bone & Joint Institute team, which included Dan Clary, Clint Madray, Garrett Lewis, and Carl Carroll, placed second in Flight 2, with a score of 61. A total of 20 teams comprised of 80 participants, participated in the tournament. The Flight 1 winning team, with a score of 56, included Bert Yeargin, Lon Lewis, John Laws and Al Coty. The Flight 2 winning team included Butch Hutcheson, John Carter, Joey Harris and Jake Carter, with a score of 60.
“We always love to participate in The Exchange Club’s mission of raising funds and awareness for children’s issues in our community,” said Dr. Lex Kenerly, owner of The Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia. “It’s both fun and fulfilling to come together as a community to support a cause as important as the safety of our children.”
The Golf tournament takes place each year in June at the Pine Forest Country Club and is sponsored by The Wayne County Exchange Club and The Wayne County Touchdown Club. The Exchange Club is a group of business and professional men and women, working together to prevent child abuse and raise awareness of other children’s issues in our community. Moneys raise are also used for the “shop with a cop” program at Christmastime. The Touchdown Club is involved with keeping the community’s youth involved in organized sports programs.
Dr. Kenerly, a Jesup native, has practiced orthopaedic surgery in the region for more than 22 years and specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder, and more.
