The Bone and Joint Institute of South Georgia to Open late Summer
JESUP, GA – May 12, 2010. In December 2009, ground was broken for the new office of Dr. J. Lex Kenerly III. The new 15,000 square foot facility state-of-the-art facility at 1505 Sunset Blvd in Jesup is officially slated to open in September 2010, and will be called The Bone and Joint Institute of South Georgia.
Kenerly, a Jesup native, has practiced orthopaedic surgery at 811 S First Street for more than 22 years. “I’m blessed to be able to pursue this dream. The support of our patients and the whole community has given us the opportunity to grow and expand, and we’re so grateful. I’m excited for everyone to see the new space, and experience all of the latest technology, along with the personal attention they’ve come to expect from us” said Kenerly. He also said that there will be a ribbon cutting and open house closer to the move-in date, and is looking forward to seeing friends and colleagues there.
Kenerly, an orthopaedic surgeon, specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He is a graduate of Wayne Country High School, The University of Georgia, and the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Greenville Hospital System and Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in Greenville, South Carolina, and returned to his hometown to open his current practice.
